RUFUS DOES JUDY AT CAPITOL STUDIOS

Dear Fans,

You may have thought that my streamed concerts had come to a close at the end of March. Well, surprise! I’m not done just yet. I am so thrilled to announce the final installment of my virtual tour with Rufus Does Judy at Capitol StudiosThat’s right–I’ll be performing the classic 1961 Judy Garland concert in the same Hollywood studio Judy herself recorded in. On the same microphone too. This album means a lot to me because it was my first GRAMMY nomination back in 2008.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Joining me as my micro-audience in the Studio A live room will be no other than Renée Zellweger, who I’m sure you know won an Academy Award for her portrayal as Judy Garland. My sister Martha Wainwright will also join remotely to sing a number, as she normally has when I’ve done this concert in person. And the ever-so talented Kristin Chenoweth will make a musical appearance. I can’t wait to sing some duets with a broadway star.
Lastly, Rufus Does Judy at Capitol Studios will be commemorated with a limited edition t-shirt created for the occasion in partnership with my longtime friend, legendary designer Michael Kors. The t-shirts will be available on my merch store for pre-order immediately and in Michael Kors Collection stores nationwide towards the end of May, with all proceeds benefiting LGBT human rights organization OutRight Action International through June – Pride Month 2021.

The show will air on Judy Garland’s 99th birthday, Thursday, June 10th, with separate show times at 8PM for North AmericaEurope, and Australia, and you can rewatch it until June 13th. I will also be doing live fireside chats for all three territories. I hope you will join me for a night of standards, showtunes, laughter and tears.

Love,
Rufus
