nothing earlier??
nothing before the 20th?? i might not be able to go..... :( and only 3 dates after 10 years? gosh i seriously hope there will be more and like closer to the beginning of the month!
I don't live in Japan any more but am tempted to go there in January! Catching up with friends and family and see Rufus ....it would be fantastic. Can I afford it? That is the question. Besides my husband won't be impressed.
Is there any other good excuse to justify my trip? I'm so excited to know that he is coming to Japan and I want to go too!
haha i'm pleading and it's sad, but you must put another date before the 20th!!! like maybe the 6th..? i only say that cuz that's my birthday and seeing rufus on my birthday would be like the best present EVER. my own bday present to me, a ticket to see him! no but seriously, one date before the 20th!! i gotta go back to school i think on the 20th............. o.O
... to Australia? The Mardi Gras is on March 1, 2008, which means you'll have a month after your Japanese dates to relax and enjoy the Asia-Pacific region before gracing us with your presence here.
Come on Rufus we love you!! (And we're too broke to jet up to Japan...)
I'm on my knees, baby! Begging, that is.
I desperately need to know if I can hang out til Rufy gets to Oz- or am I going to have to pack a bag and fly to Japan??
How do I juggle this Rufy chasing and work- and my debts that I'm racking up to see his shows??
Japan-mmmmm. My brain refuses to go into reverese once I get an idea.
Tickets for Japan shows are already on pre-sale! Well, more specifically they call it 'reservation'. You can view them and even try to book your seat if you can read Japanese. You might need a Japanese address.

Hi melampus
I'm in Melbourne- and an all up fare from Avalon with jetstar ( goes through Sydney going and comes back via brisbane)
is $1096 return plus $57 each way if you want to eat- be warm- watch a movie!
Pretty good I thought.
I think it's the being alone and not knowing anyone else that is making me hesitate.
I;ve seen Rufy in New York- London and Paris- but there was always someone with me- so not so daunting.
If you use this link
put in the web address
then click on the Japanes to English to translate
You get the page in English (of a sort)
but I still don't know whether to go or not!
NightOwl I am in a complete conundrum! Don't know whether to go for it (Japan) or hang on until/if/when/maybe/possibly Mr R. comes down here. Will do some sums.
:)
PS very impressed by your Rufus-related jet-setting.
I note Messrs Megadeth are also going to be performing in Japan...maybe I should hang around and see both?! 8-}
Also Rufus tix are 7,000 yen, which is about AUD $60-and-a-bit... seems strangely inexpensive....? Not that I'm complaining!
I have the same quandary -melampus.
If he comes to Oz the following week after I've been to Japan I'm pretty much stuffed with taking leave and the cash strapped as well.
If he comes 4 - 6 weeks later- I could have an RDO or two up my sleeve and the chance to save some money too !
Rufy-Rufy- Rufy -
put your Aussie fans out of our misery!
If you could get to see 2 groups for the price of one (plane trip)- I'd go for it!
or would Megadeth head down here as well!
...but I'm going to hang on a few more days before I make my decision because I just have a little tiny feeling, deep down in my bones (which could be wrong, but anyway), that Rufus will come to Sydney to do the Judy concert. After all, the Mardi Gras Arts Festival kicks off around February 1 (just a week after the Tokyo gig) and 2008 marks the 30th anniversary of the event, which started after the Stonewall riots in New York (which in turn were partially influenced by the death of Judy Garland). So it's just incredibly poetic. (And Rufus-Management-People, if you're reading this, please take note!!!)
I think if I do head to Japan it will be a couple of weeks before the concerts -- I've long wanted to visit and this way I could see a little bit of the country before jetting back to Oz (in case Rufus goes directly there afterwards). All I need is a few megabucks...
Seriously though, Rufus People, please let us know soon. Have mercy .
Is getting to go in the too hard basket. I'm finding there's a lot less info on the net regarding where the venues- hotels etc are.
Can't seem to find decent maps.
I'm holding off as well- because if I don't go to Japan- I might even go across to Perth ( if he plays there-) that's a marathon trip in itself!
It would be fantastic if he was here for the Mardi Gras- although it would make accom harder to get in Sydney at that time!
But I'll be booking as soon as dates are announced!
OT: Rather hoping the Lovely Zach will take out Big Brother and become a Mardi Gras Celeb this year as well!
I haven't really gone into the forums to see if old posts have been moved across.

night0wl you lucky lucky person!!!!! i just looked at the links from the old board and i'm so jealous of you i could cry!! lol. haha i'm dying to meet rufus! it's never been a possibility.... :( each time i saw him he never stuck around afterwards! tho i think i would probably go to pieces when confronted with the prospect of actually speaking to him!! LOL. gosh i hope i can meet him, maybe in japan? you guys in australia would be SOOO bloody lucky if he comes to do the judy show there!! i honestly do hope that he decides to head over there after japan to do his own material! considering how long it' s been since he's been in japan, if i were him i'd hit up australia while i was on the same side of the planet! :)
