With the new album and all the new material we've been treated to recently how has it affected your previous best of Rufus tracklist? I haven't thought about my best of list in a while. At the moment, I would think it goes something like...

Tough
I have tried several times to make friends or family or even people I am just barely meeting a Best Of Rufus record... My problem is that it ALWAYS turns into like 3 or 4 albums... I really need to work on being able to cutting down ! I will try to come up with 20 BEST and if I can do it I will post my list !

I'm actually about to make a "The Best of Rufus Wainwright" CD for my brother...
I thought that I was the only one in my family who liked Rufus (my mother, for example, doesn't like him because she thinks he has a sleepy voice?!), but last time I visited my brother he pointed out that Rufus just had released a new album...
And I was like “Yeah, I have bought it, would you like some songs?” and he said “Sure, why not?”…
So, instead of giving him just a few songs from RTS I’ve decided to gather three of the best songs from each album and make this Best Of-collection…
Hopefully my brother will convert and become a Rufus-freak like me… :D
Anyway, here’s the tracks list that I’ve made so far, maybe I'll change it a little bit until I've finally made my mind...:

... As Release the stars has some songs that deserve a privileged place. There's something I've noticed anyhow: No one appreciates one of Rufus' best performances That's 'What can I do' in the Antony and the Johnsons' album?. I find it one of the saddest possible lyrics, as simple as they might seem, and Rufus performs it so well, making you feel abamdoned, with his breathless long phrase, nonstop singing...... Ohhh, it's one of the best things i've listened to in years.
