The German radio station Radio Eins broadcasted a recording of Rufus' last concert in Berlin (30. Nov 07) on the 7th of Fabruary 2008. Did anyone of you by chance record this? Pleaseplease let me know.
Only 11 days to go until this big night, butterflies have already set in each time I think about it!
I have been trying to post on the old Forum but for some reason I can't post at all and can only post here if I delete the Adobe Flash Player (Has anyone else experienced this too, and overcome it? I'd appreciate any advice).
We were in New York for Christmas and we had booked to see the Christmas Spectacular Show at the RCMH (Spectaculary it was) and imagine our surprise when we saw Rufus's name in lights on the outside promoting the concert on the 14th Feb!!
After 4 years now as an avid Rufus fan got to experience him in his 'Live' form.
He is simply The "Beauty Mark" of popular music. From moment he & his band appeared in their joyously colourful attire they had smiles & laughter all night long!
I am sure everyone thought his reinvention of USA flag was fabulous.
Highlights really was every moment on stage, particularly the Judy Garland numbers.
"Get Happy" routine was surely the platinum highlight, never for a second forgetting his classy & frankly sexy as band doing it with him.
My only thing I would say was minor he didn't perform "Cigarettes & Chocolate Milk", "Vibrate" or "Halleljuh" (the song that introduced me to Rufus).
But he did include at least one song from each album & they were all the other stand outs. If other Brisbane fans who went to this show can just tell me names of the 2 Judy songs he did together (after the interval) because whilst sung magnificantly I can't always make out lyrics, and unlike "Get Happy" wasn't easy to work out.
a thank you from my wife and I. Rufus, sick with fever (he mentioned it a few times), managed still to put on a fantastic! show. love that rufus has not just the piano chops, the phenomenal vocals but also the showmanship, oh the showmanship. we laughed, we cried, he sung hallelujah. amen.
I went to see Rufus in concert last Monday here in Munich and it was, of course, an amazing night. He's a very good performer although I was hoping he would interact a little more with the audience.
What I *also* liked very much was the pre-show music. I presume they play roughly the same music before each concert so I'd like to ask you what songs you were able to recognize. I heard:
The Smiths - Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before David Bowie - Sound And Vision Amy Winehouse - Love Is A Losing Game
I would appreciate your help because the pre-show music would make an excellent mixtape!
just to say it was great. of the 2 shows + 1 opening act of Rufus i've seen in Portugal, this was possibly the best concert.
almost sold out (unlike the last one, in 2005) and the people were going with the flow, with the ups and downs, with the whole-orchestra songs and the stripped-down-piano-or-guitar ones. and obviously taken aback by the performance of Macushla.
The title says it all: although I remember all the songs that were played (or just about) - would anyone be able to provide the official set list for the performance in London, Ontario?
Read in Brisbane's national newspaper "the Courier-Mail" that Rufus will be touring this city on January 27 2008. I made a point to check this site to see if that was right. On the tour dates page there a date for Jan 27 but it did not say for which city this was for, like the next date for Sydney on Jan 29?
I have one extra ticket I'm trying to sell. I was supposed to go with a friend but she can't go now. It's in the 3rd row, near the center. Only downside is you'd be sitting next to me...haha.
I can't wait...I've met Rufus briefly and heard him sing 3 songs at a CD launch, but this will be my first real Rufus concert.
I have already posted this in the 'Judy Garland' thread, but just in case some people miss it:
Rufus and his band are on their way and the home page of this website states that tickets went on sale today... (scream scream etc ). But tickets for the Sydney show do not go on sale until Monday 27 August!!
When I checked ticketmaster.com.au no tickets were on offer, so I rang them for confirmation and they said August 27. THAT'S FOR THE SYDNEY SHOW. But don't take my word for it .. check for yourselves...! (I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on tickets because the chick at Ticketmaster gave me the wrong info.)
I also asked re. the show in Melbourne but she wasn't sure when tix go on sale for that one. Shit!!
I've got tickets to see Rufus on November 16th (I think) in Brussels. However, that date hasn't been included in the tour section of this site yet. Does anyone know if it's been officially confirmed?
Just got an email from Live Nation indicating that you can get tickets for $14.50 for three different upcoming Mann Center shows, including Rufus' performance on August 17. There is a $5.50 TM convenience charge per ticket, making it $20 per. Ticket selection includes pavilion seating in the Orchestra section. For the Rufus special -- just go to the regular TM sale page for the August 17 Mann show:
I don't THINK I am the only person in Florida who would LOVE to see you. i realize we're not quite so attractive as the Europeans but if you ever decide to come to Jacksonville, let me know. I'll make you a bed between my legs....(just kidding - I am a married fat woman :))
New Mexico is beautiful and Santa Fe is one of my favourite cities and I would love to have been there. So please, I would love to hear any reports from the show.
Rufus had total control of every element in the auditorium. His voice was perfect, his performances glorious, his patter witty, his jewelry ill-behaved, and his audience in the palm of his hand. When he sang the folk ballad without mics, the entire crowd was hushed and motionless. When Rufus rocked, the building itself was a living creation--his creation. And he gave all of himself for two and a half glorious hours. Rufus has achieved perfection.
Can't seem to find the setlist for Santa Rosa- my memory is only 80% complete
also, I can't remember the music director's name
Seattle was something like this:? **going to a town **sanssouci **rules and regulations **tulsa the art teacher **tiergarten **leaving for paris **between my legs harvester of hearts **do i disappoint you foggy day if love were all nobody's off the hook beautiful child **not ready for love **slide show macuhlah 14th street
I don't know what it is pretty things complaint de la butte get happy gay messiah
Just wanted to check and see if anyone who's already been to some of the shows could let me know if he is playing with the band. I was looking forward to seeing Matt Johnson. Thanks.
The first half of the show was completely mired in bad sound mixing (!!!). When Rufus sang with just himself at the piano the songs were beautiful but when he was with the full band it sounded like the music was coming from a small speaker broadcasting an A.M. radio station (his voice, thankfully, sounded fantastic through the speakers). The sound problem was clearly fixed during the intermission as the second half was a remarkable improvement.
Highlights for me: La Complainte de la Butte (I thought he only performed it in Canada and France!) Art Teacher (is there anything better than Rufus on stage alone, sitting at his piano?) Leaving for Paris Across the Universe (with Sean Lennon, this song was surprisingly touching) The 2 Judy Garland songs (I cannot wait for the album later this year!)
Rufus looked great. I didn't expect him to look as good as he did in Leiderhosen (sp?) but I'll be damned if he didn't look hot!
His voice was strong and clear.
I'd love to hear from others who saw the show and what their thoughts are regarding the sound issues.
Fingers now crossed that he'll sing La Complainte again tonight in Saratoga.
Bring it on!!

does anyone know if there is seating at this show ?? My tickets say general admission. The last time he played Austin it was a standing room but that was a different theater, and Ive never been to Stubbs BBQ so I dont know how their theater is set up. If anyone knows whether itll be seated or standing please post it on here.
Second show added in Glasgow! Due to popular demand, another show has been added in Glasgow, Scotland on October 15th. Presale tickets will go on sale tomorrow morning (Friday, August 3rd) at 9am GMT. General on sale will be on Monday, August 6th.
Go get your presale tickets!! I am seriously loving the dedication rufus is showing to his fans. so fabulous!
This thread is for posts of your picture with Rufus! I thought it would be great to see them all...one after another! So please only post your fan picture with Rufus and not any comments about the pictures. Let this be our little photo album. How about we put the date and venue of each picture.
There doesn't seem to be a thread for the Seattle show itself, so I thought I'd start one. I'll post later, but folks...if you were there please post! I'd love to see some pix!
We were really excited about seeing Rufus at the Fillmore in Denver, but financial setbacks (read: broke) force me and my fiance to sell our 3 tickets. We were planning on driving from Iowa to Denver and staying to see the Ryan Adams show and the Rufus show a few days later. We'll be in the Denver area this weekend, so I can exchange them in person. I'll give you a good deal, below face value for all 3 (or make me an offer for 2 of the tickets). I really love Rufus so it breaks my heart to sell them. Maybe we'll be able to catch him in Chicago, though. Drop a line to npleasants@gmail.com or call 515-451-6807 if interested.
hello everyone. I've just created a new group on Facebook, "a call for rufus wainwright in Israel". so please, all in favour - join and support, and maybe we'll have a chance to see him in Israel!!!
Hey guys, I was looking through Rufus' Myspace today and I saw on there that he put up new pictures. There's a whole seperate album on there showing some shots of his performances with the contest winners of each city. Check it out!
Who ever is going to this show PLEASE let us know what the set list is ......I would love to know if he will do a different set then in Europe. AND if he performed with a full band. Thanks for the info, Edmund
Anyone who has seen Rufus at the most recent shows, please let me know if Martha is performing on any of the songs? I've seen him quite a few times and just love when they perform together. Thanks!
Anyone at the Eden Sessions brilliant concert from outside UK? Us three severely devoted fans from Helsinki, Finland on the second row:)! Rufus will probably never come to Helsinki so we have no choice but to travel around Europe to see him - wouldn't miss his tours for the world, obviously.
Any genuine fans one want two tickets at cost plus postage they are rear stalls. I managed to get two more slightly nearer the stage. Contact me at bobsmith3@talktalk.net

I have just read that Rufus is to donate some seats, and meet some people after the show at the Hollywood Bowl. The show is for the charity Angel Food. How kind of him to do this. It shows his caring nature. It will be a very memorable evening for some lucky fans.

Okay, so I'm sure Rufus will probably make his way to Australia next year, but I'm impatient, desperately in love with dear Mr Wainwright and about due for a holiday, so I'm off to Europe... I've got tickets for Rufus shows in Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna and Munich. I'm planning on staying in Munich and catching lots of trains. I speak German - a little. Any advice? Anyone making a similar trip? Anyone want to meet me in Paris and point me in the general direction of Amsterdam?!
torna Rufus!!! Al conservatorio di Milano il prossimo 24 novembre. I biglietti verranno messi in vendita da ticketone venerdì prossimo...guardate il sito della barley arts!

Different Set for UK gigs in the Autumn. Time for a new set? I'm sure I'm not the only lunatic to have bankrupted myself paying for tickets to see Mr Wainwright. I DO hope the set he'll be playing in the UK in the autumn will be different from the one he showcased earlier in the year. How about something along the lines of See How Far I've Come! Including maybe songs that don't get performed that often, like 'In My Arms'. Plus a smattering of Garland, Cohen, Bacharach and French material. Do I ask too much? Surely not. Just to release the stars.
I live in Barcelona. If somebody knows anyone interested in attending TODAY (Friday the 20th) to Benicassim (Castelló) my mobile phone is 34600537760... Other great bands playing Anthony and the Johnsons, Wilco...quim63@gmail.com
I have two tickets on the main floor, section L, row O, seats 7 & 8. I'll sell them for 35$ each to anyone who is interested; just email birondelle@comcast.net
Anyone going to this show @ the LC?? I am...just not sure if I'll have general admission or reserved pit seating...The Magic Numbers opening too, should be a great show!

Hi there, i have 2 tickets in section C row e for sale, I bought them before I knew we would be out of the province at that time.. we're leaving on thursday from victoria, so if you're interested please let me know, my phone number is 250-589-4889 selling the pair for $70 obo
My sister has just phoned me to say that in today's Observer Music Monthly mag is an advert of Rufus's tour,AND!!! an extra date has been added, I'm not amused:( wouldn't you think the announcement would come on the RWMB first :(
However ! there is nothing on the gig sites up yet,so when or how you are supposed to book,i haven't a clue!
Hi All, I have 2 extra tickets for the show at the Mann Center - front orchestra section - left - 7th row: O/A/L row H seats 33,35 - I think good seats - but on the side (there is a pit section w/ 4 rows - so 11 rows back - see diagram). I bought from ticketmaster but my friend got me seats a little closer. I'm not looking for a profit - they were $42.50 each - with fees was $109.05 - I'd like $100.00 or offer. I'm gonna list them on ebay next week - but thought someone may be interested - they are much better than what you can get on ticketmaster now. If so - please respond or email me at prussell716@comcast.net Thanks! Here is a link to the seating diagram: http://www.manncenter.org/tickets/seatingchart.asp I've heard that anything that close at Mann is very good - but have never been to the venue - has anyone been to the Mann Center before?

Okay, I bought a ticket for SF, thinking that someone would want my Hollywood Bowl ticket and I could actually afford to go...well, no one wants the damn thing!
So I'm going to sell them at best offer, the seats are as follows:
For 8/3/07 at Masonic - Section 3, Main Floor, Row E - Seat 5 - Face Value: $45.
For 9/23/07 at Hollywood Bowl: Terrace Section, Row 1464 - Seat 60 Face Value: $98.
I'd love to get face value for these. Is anyone interested? I'd love to get rid of the Hollywood Bowl one so I could actually go to the Masonic show!
Email at chels82@mac.com or reply here.

Has anyone been able to get more information regarding Rufus at summerstage? It is listed on the tour page, but the link for info is dead. Summerstage.com does not have anything about the show. I'm considering driving to the city with the kids to see this, but being a 6-7 hour drive I need to make plans in advance.
I was wondering what all Rufus performed at T in the Park. On the BBC site, they only had clips of him performing three songs, so I was curious about what the rest of his performance had included.
I saw on very reliable french commercial website (Fnac) that Rufus will play 6th november in Grenoble, France. Do you think he'll play more french shows on this month, and especially a new Paris one ? I think it will be the case, but I'd like to know your point of view and if you are aware of some of these possible shows. Tell me ! French fans, I'm wating for your posts ! ;-)
Is anyone driving from London and wouldn't mind giving me a lift down? i'll pay my share of petrol , only decided today that i wanted go, i don't even have a ticket yet but will arrange all that tomorrow if i can get a lift. thx
hi everyone, i was just wondering if there was anyone coming back from eden on tues night towards the west of cornwall. i live by redruth but anywhere en route down would be great - petrol money of course! also i have a spare ticket - does anyone want it? a donation for it would be nice but i'd rather someone has it than it goes to waste. you can email me - tracey2109@hotmail.com
Hey everyone! I was supposed to be going to see Rufus at the Eden project on Tuesday but I'm ill so I won't be able to make it. :( Which means I'm selling my ticket (for 25 pounds, the original price is 33 pounds). If you're interested, I've got the ticket online so I can send it to you straight away. All you have to do is print it off and you're good to go. Let me know!
This is my very first post on this site so HELLO to everybody. I hope somebody can answer my question.
It all comes down to this: I'm unsure if want to see Rufus in concert when he stops in my city in August. I've been a fan of his for a while now. I own POSES, both WANTS, & RELEASE THE STARS. I really do love his music, but I read an article about his recent performances in New York that stated he did some Judy Garland stuff. Honestly, I could care less about JG. If I go to a Rufus concert, I want to see him perform his own material. I don't want to spend $30-50 if I am going to be listening to songs I don't even know (and honestly don't care to know). This isn't a lot of money to most people, but I'm a po' college student.
Can anybody that has seen him on tour lately confirm how much JG he throws in? Also, I know he has to pimp his new album but I hope he's still performing stuff from POSES and WANT ONE.
First of all, i hope everyone enjoyed Rufus in Groningen yesterday, i couldn't make it because the trains stopped driving before the concert would have so that really sucked for me...but i'm not bitter or anything :( (lucky bastards)
But I am very pleased to inform you that Rufus (and me:) ) will both be in the HMH in Amsterdam on november 20th!!
Hi! I've just got back from Copenhagen. Our holiday ended with an incredible night. Approaching to the Opera House across the water by a boat, then there I met some lovely people. It was like a dream. Rufus looked very cute in a white suit,Opera House was gorgeous venue, I loved the every minute I spent there. Oh,I thought Danish fans (or people I saw there) are all good-looking. However my husband was not impressed by my observation. Thank you ever so much for this opportunity ,Only-just-a-person.I hope you had a good time too!
....hi - is anyone travelling from central london to the eden project on tues 10? it will be my first time watching rufus live and am also a huge hot chip fan however i don't drive but can pay petrol....anyone happy for a huge fan to join them, please email me on: nutcutlett@hotmail.com thanks muchly nicola x (ps - i am a good travelling companion)
if u havnt heard his stuff buy passing stranger.... i wasnt going 2 go 2 these as the nearest ones cardiff n abit of a mission n im seeing him n spain aGain anyway but i might have 2 reconsider now scotts supporting 2 of my faviorite artists so yeah
Is anyone on here going to Montreux? Has anyone ever been there in the past? If so, what is the scene like? Does anyone know how long R's set there is likely to be?
After Brussels at 16 november is Rufus coming to Holland again! Great news at my birthday today! Tickets are for sale from next saturday at big post offices. Rufus is playing with band.
He's gonna be at the Montreux Jazz Festival July 12th! I just got my ticket and was wondering if anyone else was going? Hehe i'm jumping across the pond to see him again! Hopefully he's on stage longer than the last time I saw him and if he has the lederhosen... I think I'll just die. ;)
The show was full of technical and martha-rical problems which made it much fun to listen to/watch the same set being performed at Glastonbury. Click on the photo below to see some more photos I took at Glastonbury (and other shows).
Anyone have any tickets for Seattle they aren't going to use? I'd love to go. I have a friend who will go with...but if I can only get one, I'll go alone. Thanks so much!
For anyone who wants to see what he looks and sounds like you can watch his 32 minute set from Glastonbury http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2007/watchandlisten/ He has a fantastic voice!
I'm desperate to see Rufus at Symphony Hall, and noticed that all the best seats are already up on sale on ebay. The sellers clearly aren't fans, but basically the cyberspace version of the blokes who used to hang around outside gigs selling wildly overpriced tickets to the desperate ones who couldn't get any. It really makes me sad - Rufus isn't getting the money, and we're getting ripped off. Ebay should stop this! How about fans start using this forum to sell unwanted tickets at face value, and put on a united front.
Seems a couple of people are a bit low here after the scramble to get tickets - thought this might cheer some people up...
I went on to seetickets on the "b" of the bang on Wednesday morning - skipped right past the t-shirt thing and got myself two tickets in the middle of stalls row E! I couldn't have wanted for a better location!
However I'm then out for the rest of the day. I come back to check my emails, first is from Seetickets saying they'd receieved the application blah blah... all fine... then, about an hour after that emai, I got a "sorry, your card was declined - your tickets have been put back for sale" - you've never heard such a TopCat howl as when I read that email!!
Anyway, I didn't know who to be furious with... but it turned out it was myself. I only went and entered the wrong expiry date wrong on my card. I'm smiling about it now but I wasn't at the time... by the time I checked back there were, of course (and no offence to anyone who has them) not the best seats left over. Normally i'd jump at any chance to see Rufus - but I guess i had my heart set on row E! I just hope they went to another fan, not some tout on ebay...
Hey RW - any chance of another London show? Perhaps one just for myself, so I can sprawl across the whole of row E for the duration....?
I know I will make happy people tonight : Rufus is coming to Brussels at Le Cirque Royal on November 16 ! Tickets were not on sale via the net this morning but you can already order your tickets by phone : 0032/2/218.37.32 I had decided to go to Gröningen because Rufus hadn't planned any full concert in Belgium - apart from the short appearance in Werchter yesterday - so I will have the pleasure to see him a third time this year. Rufus' performance yesterday in Werchter was magic !
This morning's keyboard rage was induced by our old friends at Ticketmaster. Why did the page selling tickets for Rufus at the Manchester Apollo in October not go 'live' at 9.00am, as advertised? It didn't come up until circa 9.15am by my reckoning. Anyhow, by then the seats being offered in the stalls were not brilliant. So, has anyone actually managed to get their hands on tickets in the first ten rows at the Manchester Apollo? Meanwhile, I await the deluge of sellers on eBay...
Spent most of the morning on the see tickets website unable to buy tickets for the Cardiff gig, just out of interest went on to the Millenium Centre website and the tickets are up for sale on there. I would seriously consider looking at the actual venue websites to book tickets!!
The allocation of pre-sale tickets were rubbish, what is the point of pre sale?? To top it all I have tried since 9am this morning to book tickets, for the first 30 minutes I got Server busy, and now I get the ticket allocation page but no tickets are offered????
It seems I can book tickets at other venues, so I know it is not my pc………
Been away so got my tickets this morning. I avoided See Tickets this time and got them directly from the SECC. They only had some at the back of the front stalls but should still be good tickets :-) So looking forward to another Glasgow concert!
Can I just ask, like on his tour this winter, does anyone know who will be supporting/joining Rufus? For example Antony (Antony and the Johnsons) Cheers x
Rufus, if you read your fan's messages re gigs seen ........ you were AMAZING in Folkstone, as were your band. A crappy location which turned out to be a hidden gem re acoustics/sound & proximity to you & bandmates. Brilliant! You're wonderful!
I dno if this is already a thread but i thouhgt id make it anyway... considering live aspects what would your perfect rufus set be???

I have posted his on the old board as well. This is not really sour grapes, everyone, but I must admit I am a bit jealous of all the shows Rufus is doing in UK! Another 10 shows!!!
I know he will be in my home town for 1 show, but this isn't for me. He is doing TWO shows in all the western Canadian provinces, and I don't know about the American shows. It is almost 4 years since he has been here in western Canada at all! I feel he could have done a proper show in Calgary, Winnipeg and Regina(the Rolling Stones are performing in Regina for God's sake!) What is wrong with us here in Western Canada? There are many towns here bigger than many of the towns he is performing at in UK!
I love Rufus to bits, and maybe it isn't up to him, but when there are fans in UK who have been to 20 shows this year alone, then I feel that there is a bit of imbalance here with us in North America! Most of us can't even get to one show! Again, I reiterate, this is not for me that I'm posting, but for the many Canadian and American fans who are not lucky enough to live near a town where Rufus is performing.
Hi! Do you think it would be possible to meet Rufus after (or before?) the concert somehow? I mean if he comes outside to say hi and give autographs etc. I'd really really really really love to meet him if it's at all possible...
Pardon me for being SO brief and not having the full info, but www.WNYC.com (New York's local National Public Radio station) will be playing Rufus' Friday night concert at 7pm EST. I don't even know where he's going to be (don't shun me, community!) but I know that if you're not there, you can at least listen via their website!
Sorry, again for the quick, crappy post! Forgive me, all.... :/
I've got one spare ticket for the concert in Groningen. You can bid on it on the marktplaats website: http://hobby.marktplaats.nl/toegangskaarten-en-tickets-concerten/100814541-ticket-rufus-wainwright-july-5-2007-groningen.html?adcode=7c4f6d57384e79f54e507a5cc20ea97c
i have 2 tickets available for tonight! i live near luton so you'd better hurry. absolutely gutted i can't go - saw him at old vic and he was wonderful....

Hei Rufus, I'm making a delicious salad on July 5th and I'm living very near the Oosterpoort. Feel like joining us before the performance?? You're very welcome! :)
I've been a Rufus fan for a year and a half now but this was my debut as part of the audience in a Rufus' show. Came all the way from Barcelona on my own but it was more than worthy, I can assure you that now!
The best of the night: the entire 1h and 50 mins of the performance, I enjoyed every single minute of it. It surprised me gladly a certain "shyness" of Rufus, his closeness, his timid smile when the audience welcomed him and clapped after all his songs. It made me feel him closer and the whole experience more memorable.Rufus and the whole band were just FANTASTIC and I couldn't stop clapping and crying out loud from the first rows after every single song (OoooOooohh!!!), and again I get that "shy (overwhelmed) smile" on his face.So lovingly close.
The second best thing were Geneva and Lolo, which I accidentally met at Madrid airport. We were in the same flight from Barcelona and had the same final destination: La Riviera. Great to meet you guys and hope we meet again for many other Rufus's gigs!!
Two last things I'd like to mention: the little chat outside with some of the band talking about a quite possible show in Barcelona next fall (please do!), and... my final big goodbye-waving salute to Jack Petruzzelli from his big dark wagon which he enthusiastically returned. THANKS!!!
I owe you all being the main stars of one of my best nights.
