4 Radical Fairies, 2 of us from SF, 1 from LA and 1 from P-Town will be doing a box together. By the way, at the SF show Rufus did 2 numbers from the Carnegie Hall show. Eschewing the more obvious (with a nod to San Francisco "...hangin off a cable car...") he sang the Gershwin's "A Foggy Day" and Noel Coward's "If Love Were All". Both were spot on and flawless!

Is there a forum floating around here for relevant Judy history and info relating to the show? If not I'd love to start one.

No, I don't believe any meet up plans are happening right now, but they should, right? Anyone from the LA area able to advise on where we should meet up? All comments welcome! :-)

The Hollywood Bowl will be my third Rufus concert. I have attended Carnegie Hall and the London Palladium. I am so looking forward to the Bowl performance as I expect it to be magical. Am staying at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel right nearby. Anyone else there as well?

Thickheaded newbie that I am, I just saw the light and realized I'd be a fool not to go down from SF. My first Rufus live will be in August at the Masonic, and I'm thrilled about that. But I had LPs of Judy at Carnegie Hall as a teenager, how could I NOT go to the Hollywood Bowl. Just a bench seat, but I am sooooo excited, like a teenage fantasy come true. Rufus has definitely put a thrill back in my life. I feel like singing "Zing went the strings of my heart" and "You made me love you." (blushes).

As a kid I first saw Judy perform on her television show in the mid 1960s, and I was instantly mesmerized at age 13. I quickly went out and bought the Carnegie Hall LPs and played them thousands of times. Now 40 years later, Rufus pays tribute to my favorite singer by recreating her show, and introducing this music to whole new generation. For those who say that Rufus has no right to perform Judy's material since it is sacred, I say hogwash! He's spreading the news (so to speak) of great entertainment. And he's not doing so as a female impersonator. I say BRAVO!

All I can say about Rufie doing an all-Judy HB show is, well it's about damn time! I promise to buy this concert in whatever form I can. Unfortunately I'm unable to make it clear out to California, so I think I'll stay in bed.....

We got tickets as soon as they went on sale. We heard about the NY Judy/Carnegie Hall show last year and were soooooooo jealous! When we saw that he was performing the same show at the Bowl, we were so there...!

We also have tickets to see him in Saratoga in northern CA. Can't wait to see him do his new album/yum! Rufus twice in one summer...does it get any better than that???? ;-)

Aw I;ve just seen a snippet of Rufus singing at the Carnegie Hall on the Richard and Judy show today,I saw him at the Palladium,fond memories,sigh, and wishing I was going to see him do it again with you all.

I saw it at the Palladium too. I can't wait for the DVD to come out. September I believe.

We're going too! A very nice guy that we met at Rufus' show in May at the Belly Up Tavern is selling his tix to me because he bought even better ones from another fan! BUT these seats are in the Terrace section and I am sooo excited! This same nice guy sent me an article today that was all about the HB concert and how Rufus will be doing the exact same concert that Judy did there in 1961...it was never recorded and she actually walked out over a pool of water on a ramp through the fans (if that makes sense?) but now, the pool of water will be gone but there will be a ramp that Rufus will be able to walk along into the crowd...how cool is that? Needless to say I'm beyond excited! YAY! Rufus! Rufus! Rufus!

I won't tell a soul (-: I told you before, that I would get back to you with where my seats are. Well, they say Section/Terrace, Row/Box1363, Seats/1&2. Not really sure what all that means...I'm going to check in with the person I bought them from. I've never been to the HB before. I'm not sure if we'll be able to meet up with everyone before but maybe we can work something out.

The tickets start at $150 and go up to $1500 a seat,so checkout their website if you want to purchase and see what you get for your money.
