This has to be one of my very favorites of Rufus' songs! It is beautifully depressing and I play it over and over when I'm sad.
I love sad songs. But Rufus has never recorded a song that I didn't like. I love them all. I just have different favorites on different days and different moods.

... intrigued by the major chord at the end of this song. A postive note (excuse the pun) at the end of all this sadness.
I DO like this song - a good one to cry to, I remember at the low points in a relationship that tottered on for almost 7 years.
I love Rufus' lyrics that conjure up such a lonely existence, surrounded by crowds of dancing, cruisy queens - how lonely THAT can be! *sob*

This Love Affair is heartbreaking on the album but omgosh, give it to me live. I think I'd bawl.
