oh, what a world

I want to comment on how great of a track this is! In my top 10 of Ru's songs.

It is a must for me to listen to every time I am on an air plane...

It makes me want to get trashed off of wine by myself and smoke Camel No. 9's... and sing as loud as I can! Haha.

Oh oh, and I MUST link you all here:

Oh What A World

The song that introduced me to Rufus. Simply wonderful.

Me too. I saw him on the Frank Skinner show and fell in love with the song. I couldn't quite believe what was happening when Balero came in half way through the song - I half expected Torvil and Dean to come skating past!

Great American Songbook

This is a wonderful song. There is nothing else like it. I just have to shake my head at the imagination of it.

I have been listening non-stop to Rufus for several weeks now (only broken intermittedly with bits of the wonderful, wonderful Martha) but a few days ago I decided I was becoming obsessed and would have to wean myself off. So I listened to the radio for a while, only to discover that everything else sounded really crap, so plain and vanilla-flavoured and thoroughly uninspired. So back to Rufus I be.

Obviously I picked up on the Ravel's 'Bolero' reference, but there is another song in there, which for the life of me I cannot place. It sounds like a bit of 'Rhapsody in Blue' or something -- one of those great American songs. (So great that I can't remember it!! But then, I don't happen to be American.) Can anyone place it? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Rufus Doofus

Sorry, me again, just realised what a dumb post my last one was. It's all "Balero"; no great American songbook at all. Please forgive and forget.

Oh, What A World

This is the first song I watched Rufus sing on youtube and just the way he sang it made me fall in love with it! It's brilliant and the way he dances and makes comments about himself is hilarious and gorgeous. A fabulous song!
