Who will keep, keep me in this evening?
Even though they are not here with me
I could be a great star, still I'm far from happy

Finally, feel the world around me
Fighting through, fighting through the whiskey
I could be a great star, still I'm far from happy

Out of these shadows comes the light
Shadows, comes the light

You will keep, keep me in this evening
Even though you are not here with me
I could be a great star, still I'm far from happy
I could be a great star, I could be a great star
I could be a great star, I could be a great star
Still I'm far from happy

Out of these shadows comes the light
Out of these shadows comes the light
Shadows, comes the light

Effortlessly cool, its so different to what you'd expect from him. Turntables and breakbeats, works really well and is a standout from the album in my oinion.

not really a favourite

its just never really stuck
it feels half finished.
i understand what is being attempted but i just don't think it suits Rufus' style

Shadows...

...is a grower, wasn't really into it for a long time and then it sort of crept up on me and I like it quite a lot even if it is a bit kd lang.

I've always really liked this song, just something about it.

I thought I would look at the lyrics while listening. BRILLIANT!
I love the drumbeat, the way his voice goes from low to high with a vibrating crackle. the little tinkering on the piano keys in the background with the flute.

Some of these songs were made for headphones, you don't get the layers in the car or over the computer.

Hmm...

This song was the last song on Poses that I came to like but needless to say I now love it! It's so different from anything else he's done and that is quite appealing when you fancy something a little different.

yeah, this is one of my least favorite songs.

not very "rufus-ish"

it's nice driving music though.
