if it were not for this song, i may not have ever been exposed to Rufus. thanks to the I Am Sam soundtrack, and the re-released version of "Poses," i'm here to stay... :)

Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup, They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting thorough my open mind, Possessing and caressing me
Jai guru deva om Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world
Images of broken light, which dance before me like a million eyes, They call me on and on across the universe Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box, They stumble blindly as they make their way across the universe
Jai guru deva om Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world
Sounds of laughter, shades of earth are ringing through my open mind, Inciting and inviting me Limitless undying love, which shines around me like a million suns, It calls me on and on across the universe
Jai guru deva om Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world Jai guru deva, jai guru deva
It has a lovely treatment - I listen to it almost religiously, I have to admit. Evry Friday to be precise, not sure why, but it does give a lift to a weary soul.
I must say I don't like Rufus's version of it that much. He uses the worst version the Beatles have recorded of the song (damn you Phil Spector!) and then doesn't really add anything to it. I do love the Beatles song though, I'm a massive Beatles fan :-)
rufus' cover of this song is very good. it has a very reminiscent/tragic sound to it. however, fiona apple's version is my favorite. (i hope i just didn't commit a sin by admitting that. i still prefer rufus' voice over fiona's...)
