How Did Cigarettes & Chocolate Milk (Reprise) Come About?

Was it an alternative take of the song that Rufus liked an decided to amend to the album or did he always plan to have two versions on the album?

It's always perplexed me, seeing as even though it's a reprise it's almost the same length of the original song with the main addition being a little beat.

i've wondered too

i mean i love the song so 2 versions isn't bad! but yea i've had to wonder why it's there. the music video he made was the reprise version, and it was used in a movie too i think. actually the reprise is a bit shorter than the original version because they cut the very beginning bit, meaning he starts singing sooner, and there are just bits they've sort of trimmed away in the middle. the ending is much faster too. i suppose it just takes the tempo up a notch, but i don't really see the purpose of it.

Hmm...

I must say I'm not a fan of this version. I don't really know why but I think it's because the less interferance with Rufus and the piano the better in my opinion!
