My favorite Rufus song is......Across the Universe. Would love to hear his sing that tomorrow night in Santa Rosa, since Sean Lennon will be there, but so far i've heard no set lists that contain that song.
My all time favorite song takes me back to when I was 5 and received my first vinyl 45 recording of "The Archies" Sugar, Sugar. It's still a favorite of mine. Another favorite song takes me back to the 6th grade when "Hall and Oates" recorded SARAH SMILE. I'm also a huge "JOURNEY" fan and anything JOURNEY sounds great to me, but I particularly love THE DEPARTURE album and ANYWAY YOU WANT IT is my favorite on that one. Few people can compete with the likes of Steve Perry. He's one in a million and they broke the mold when his Mom gave birth to him. I'm not fond of top 40 radio today. Maybe it's because i'm getting older, but music was just so good back in the 70's and 80's. Okay, I admit it, i'm stuck in that era for good i'm afraid.
Billie Jean by Michael Jackson is the best pop song bar none...you´ve got stalkers and unwanted illgetimate children all to that wonderfully dirty baseline. Genius.
Also The Man With The Child in His Eyes by Kate Bush. She wrote it when she was 12. Again, genius
