    His new album ?

Is there anybody aware of any new album coming out ?
Has he been talking about new things he wrote or composed ?
I just can't wait for a sequel to RTS.

    Re: His new album ?

He has mentioned in one or two interviews recently that he is 'working on a new album', and a few months ago he talked about the possibility of an album of 'B sides', i.e the unreleased material which he wrote for the Want albums I believe.
But nothing definite, and he is probably focussing on his opera now, and the Shakespeare sonnets.

i think i missed something--do you happen to remember the sources of this information?

i sure hope another album is released prior to the opera's debut. rufus has so many (i'm sure, beautiful) songs hidden in that vault of his. it would be wise to keep his name in the public eye until the opera, especially with the success of Release the Stars.

It was at the Crossing Borders in the Hague, see:
    Rufus at Crossing Borders

Joop (Jupke) asked him that question!

I have been DYING to hear those other tracks that were recorded during the Want sessions... Let's hope this really happens ! And soon-ish ! I need something Rufus-y to add to Christmas 2008's Starter Pack.

    RebelPrince1986 - nice user name

I do think the Want period would be a great time to hear more songs from, but I guess in the end I'm more interested in new music. But I'll forgive Rufus, since I suspect he's gonna be pretty burnt out for the next little while!

    Re: His new album ?

well, i won't hold my breath until we get a more definitive answer about the possibility of a new album, but that would certainly be exciting! and don't forget, rufus recorded around 50 songs for the debut album--perhaps he could release an album with unreleased material spanning from the debut to Release the Stars

it seems that, if rufus were to release another album, he would be tempted to use tracks already recorded, as he may not have the time now to go back into the studio (working on the opera, Shakespeare sonnets, taking a break from touring, etc.)

50 songs! I didn't know that. I would LOVE to hear the unreleased stuff from his early years, plus studio versions of the early stuff I've collected from live performances over the years. What a treat!

I asked Rufus on Sunday night in Limerick about a new album and he said that he is working on one, and it will be just him and a piano
I'll never know what you have shown to other eyes.....
